Hiya! I am once again back with something that ISN’T Dungeon Synth. Look at me branching out. Crazy, I know. Anyway, this time, I am bringing you the first single, Sieta, from Kaamos Warriors upcoming 5th studio album. For the uninitiated, Kaamos Warriors are a Finnish Pagan metal band that has dedicated their music to the northern wilderness.

I am immediately sucked into the song with the slow and methodical raw guitar sounds in the beginning of the track. I am also a big fan of the way the percussion comes into play. I find myself really digging the instrumentals for this single. Around the final third of the song it softens and brings in delicate strings that pair beautifully with that guitar from the beginning. This song has a great traditional shred moment too. The vocals are consistent and fit the vibe of the song.
My only complaint in this regard is that I do not speak Finnish, so I have no idea what is said at any point in the song. Because of this, I was a little caught off guard by the monologue in the final third that seems to be from a small child. That was a little weird, but otherwise the song was great. The music video is also out and the whole aesthetic and vibe are impeccable. Very fitting for the Old Gods indeed.
Overall, considering the instrumentals, vocals, and the music video all together, I think it all comes together really nicely and I can only imagine that the rest of the album will be equally as well put together.
