Guitarist Bob Balch comments:
“I wanted to write a song that pulled elements from both Hall of the Mountain King–era Savatage and Killers–era Iron Maiden. The chorus riff was reminiscent of the old MTV theme from the early ’80s, but I wanted to tweak it slightly and then pan it left to right. Now I’ve spilled my guts, and you know everything that went into the song musically, haha! I gave the track to Minnesota Pete for drums, and he absolutely killed it. Then we shipped it off to Terry for vocals, and he crushed it as well. Finally, we sent it to Fredrik for bass, and he destroyed. The song is about personal struggles and internal conflict. Hope you dig it!”
