Festival Ethos & Vision:

The Black Flame Festival exists to burn against the current — a celebration of the underground, built from the ground up by those who live and breathe it. This is not a corporate event or a glossy showcase; it’s a collective act of defiance, a gathering of bands, fans, and creators united by one truth: we don’t need permission to exist.

Every step of this festival is driven by community. We are working-class artists, fans, writers, and musicians building something real together — with no industry gatekeepers, no commercial gloss, and no compromise. The funding applications to the National Lottery and PRS Foundation, alongside upcoming crowdfunding efforts, are not about selling out — they’re about keeping the underground alive, giving it space to grow, and proving that the scene can sustain itself when nobody else will.

This is a grassroots movement — for the underground, by the underground. Every note, every flyer, every stage light is powered by shared passion, hard work, and unbreakable will. The Black Flame Festival is not about profit. It’s about presence. It’s about carving out a space where extreme music can breathe freely, on its own terms, surrounded by those who understand what it means to fight for the art that defines them.

How People Can Get Involved:

The Black Flame Festival exists to give underground metal a genuine stage — created by and for those who live it. This is a grassroots, community-driven project built on collaboration, passion, and creative independence.

Bands:

We currently have 19 confirmed acts from the UK, Europe, and the US, representing a wide range of underground metal subgenres. We plan to host up to 30 bands in total, with submissions closing once that number is reached. Artists who share our ethos and commitment to the underground are encouraged to get in touch while spaces remain.

Sponsors, Labels, and Press:

We’re seeking genuine partnerships — people and organisations who value the growth of the underground music scene. If you’d like to support the festival through sponsorship, collaboration, or media coverage.

Fans and Community:

The Black Flame Festival is designed to be built with its audience, not just for them. A crowdfunding campaign and newsletter sign-up will launch soon, offering supporters a direct way to contribute and stay informed. Every share, donation, and word of support helps strengthen the foundations of this movement.

Together, we can ensure the underground thrives — louder, prouder, and stronger than ever.
