Finnish Doom/Death Metal outfit Marianas Rest have released a new single/video for the track The Colour of You, taken from their upcoming fifth album The Bereaved, due out January 16th, 2026, via Noble Demon.

Vocalist Jaakko Mäntymaa comments:
“When we started composing The Colour we didn’t see it ending up as a love song, but here we are. Like the whole album, this song deals with personal loss. Sometimes it may be healthier to forget than to cling on to memories no matter how cherished they are.”
While Guitarist Nico Mänttäri adds:
“At first we had an acoustic demo with some string arrangements that we didn’t exactly know what to do with. We went back and forth with a couple of ideas but it didn’t seem to hit the right nerve. Then when the idea of what the song could be about, it was a light bulb over the head type of a situation, and it took maybe half an hour to get the arrangement sorted.”
