Ava Toton Releases New Single, Decay, Featuring Drummer Ace Arze Freeman

Guitar prodigy Ava Toton has released a brand new single, Decay, featuring drummer Ace Arze Freeman.

And stream the track via Spotify this Friday:

“The track signals a fresh era for Ava after stepping away from a turbulent “super group” project that nearly stalled her music career. “DECAY” is a cathartic release — both musically and personally. Driven by Ava’s razor-sharp guitar riffs and Ace’s powerhouse drumming, the track channels the raw intensity of modern rock while showcasing Ava’s refined songwriting and production skills honed over more than a decade.

The single arrives ahead of Ava’s next release, “Phoenix”, a song she originally co-wrote with members of Black Seraphim. After watching the band debut their own version of the song in a livestream, Ava realized she needed to release her vision of “Phoenix” to ensure her artistry and reputation as a songwriter were fully represented. Ava and Ace are no strangers to working together. Formerly known as Alpha Z, the duo have shared the stage and studio before, but “DECAY” marks their most striking collaboration yet. Though not currently tied to any band name or formal arrangement, Ava and Ace are keeping the door open for future joint projects.

At just 16, Ava Toton has already built a reputation as a fearless guitarist and songwriter with an ear for both heavy riffs and thoughtful storytelling. Her music draws on a foundation of rock and metal, but reflects a maturity far beyond her years. With “DECAY” and “Phoenix” on the horizon, Ava is reclaiming her voice and setting the stage for a powerful new chapter.

Before co-founding her current band Cataclysmic with collaborator Derek Romero, Ava released two independent EPs (A.V.A. and Charm School Dropout) and singles such as “Embers” and “Like A Girl.” Cataclysmic dropped their debut single “Death is Just a Doorway” in July 2025. With “DECAY” and future projects, Ava is stepping into her own as both producer and artist, delivering a darker, evolved sound that reflects her true vision. This new musical identity will shape the evolution of her solo work as well as upcoming material from Cataclysmic.”
