Lament of the Dryads is track one from the debut double-single by Eveale, who seeks to give us an introduction to their unique brand of black metal. Featuring a myriad of fantastical elements that are characterized by up-tempo guitar riffs, this single has a sense of whimsy that adds to its charm.

The lyrics weave a rich tapestry of mythic melodies and transport one to a world outside of our own. A few expertly placed folk flourishes become the driving force of this track and give it a well-rounded fullness. Here we have a fresh perspective on what could be tired trends, seen through new eyes and given proper embellishment.
There is a lot of ingenuity, which creates a great texture. I also found the more upbeat feel to this song quite refreshing in comparison to other releases. As a debut, this is a very strong start that piques my interest in what is yet to come.
Lament of the Dryads is available now for purchase through the collaboration album Mortem Tyrannis and over on their Bandcamp, set to release on May 30th. Please go over and show them some support.
Until next time, hails or something.
