Acid Gods by GRIN

Greetings, you cosmic drifters of the Black Metal Archives—Sean here, still buzzing from GRIN’s Acid Gods. Spun these two singles today, and it’s like Berlin’s smog fused with a starship’s exhaust to choke me out. Caught their new singles on Bandcamp, with the full album released May 30th, 2025—and these tracks hit like a meteor shower. Let’s dive into the haze!

GRIN crawled from Berlin’s underbelly, a two-piece juggernaut—Jan Oberg (drums, vocals) and Sabine Oberg (bass). Acid Gods is their latest trip, a self-released stoner-doom plunge into the void.

“Nocturno” lurches in with a riff that’s thick as tar—Sabine’s bass groans like a dying sun, Jan’s drums thudding slow and deliberate. His vocals rasp like a shaman lost in orbit, and I’m hooked—nodding as the fuzz swallows me. It’s a six-minute slog that feels eternal, in the best way.

Drag Me Down” shifts gears, a bit leaner—bass pulses with a hypnotic sway, drums cracking like distant thunder. Jan’s voice turns haunting, almost clean, and the track fades into a starry abyss that leaves me floating.

GRIN’s sound is a dirty cosmos—think Electric Wizard’s swampy plod meets Sleep’s riff worship, but with a Berlin edge of cold, industrial grime. It’s heavy, heady, and unpolished—feels like they jammed this in a squat under neon lights. Acid Gods is a slow-burn ritual—crank it, let it melt you, and join me in this astral muck.

You spaced-out wanderers, hit the comments—how did these tracks warp your mind? Stream ‘em on Bandcamp and ride the riffs until the full album releases on May 30th, 2025!
