Fireborn by Solstice Pyre

Welcome my fellow black metalheads, Sean here at the Black Metal Archives, and fuck me, I’m still reeling from Solstice Pyre’s Fireborn—cranked it this afternoon, and it’s like a supernova exploded in my goddamn chest. I stumbled onto this Finnish beast while choking down a stale sandwich, and it lit me up like a torch in a void—cosmic, fierce, and fucking radiant. Dropped September 6, 2024, self-released from the shadows of Helsinki, this seven-track inferno’s got me howling at the stars—let’s rip this stellar motherfucker apart!

Solstice Pyre ignited in Finland in 2020, a cryptic crew forging cosmic black metal from the northern gloom. Bringing Fireborn into the ether in 2024, their debut full-length, ready to burn the heavens down.

Alcarinqua” blazes in like a comet smashing through my skull, guitars roaring with melodic fury that’s got my veins pulsing. The vocals snarl like a starborn wraith—sharp and wild—while twin axes carve shimmering, frostbitten riffs that light up the dark. The drums thunder like a collapsing galaxy, and the bass hums deep, dragging me into this astral chaos—I’m hooked, head spinning, lost in the glow.

Minelauva” keeps the blaze raging, and holy shit, it’s got me grinning like a possessed fucker. The guitars weave this soaring, cosmic storm—bright as hell, cold as space—while the voice cuts through, raw and unhinged. The rhythm section pounds with stellar might, and I’m thrashing ‘til my ribs ache—starlight never sounded so goddamn alive.

Encircled” dives into the void, a beast that grips my soul like gravity’s pull. The guitars churn out ethereal, crushing waves, pulsing with synth-like echoes, while the snarls howl with celestial rage. It’s a hypnotic spiral that’s got me swaying, drunk on its fiery fucking orbit—pure black metal transcendence.

Perseus” is where I fucking lose it—a titan that torches my sanity to ash. The guitars erupt with this blazing, heroic fire—riffs that slash like a warrior’s blade—while the vocals snarl and soar, dripping with cosmic wrath. It’s a standout that’s got me roaring into the night, fucking consumed by its power.

Solstice Pyre’s sound on Fireborn is a goddamn constellation—the guitars are a torrent of radiant riffs and icy melodies, while the bass is the deep, throbbing core that keeps me raging. The drums are a fucking supernova, blasting with primal fury, and the vocals are the raw, starry soul—wild, fierce, and perfect. In the black metal genre, these fuckers soar with the atmospheric giants—Emperor’s grandeur, Mare Cognitum’s cosmic chill—but with a fiery melodic edge that’s pure Dissection or Sacramentum, unpolished and blazing. This album’s a fucking journey, a blast of starborn rage that’s got me hooked—crank it loud, let it rip, and join me in this radiant goddamn abyss.

You inglorious bastards reading this, tell me in the comments how this album ignited your soul—I wanna hear your grim fucking tales! You can blast the full album on Bandcamp, so get your ass over there and dive into the fire!

Stay grim, you filthy bastards, and keep the black flame burning!
