After what can only be described as the toughest, roughest time of my life – and I used to be a junkie, so trust me when I say this was way fucking worse – I woke up this morning, realised that I had a website that has garnered quite a following from fans, bands, and record companies alike, and decided enough if this feeling sorry for myself bullshit, it was time to get back to work.

Having felt like I had been neglecting a whole host of bands and artists who had gone out of the way to search us out, I jumped onto Bluesky – the only social media I use – and began at the beginning as I want through our followers, and the first band I came across was Primordial Serpent, via Dark Sigil Productions.

And, boy howdy, am I glad I did.

Their new single, Bringer of the Storm, is available on YouTube and it is a fucking blistering piece of Black Metal that tears your face off and pours salt directly onto the exposed flesh.

With jackhammer beats that pummel you relentlessly, to riffs played so quickly I’m surprised the strings didn’t carch fire, Bringer of the Storm does just that. It brings a motherfucker of a Black Metal Storm to life, that pulls you into its core and batters you relentlessly for five minutes, leaving you a broken, blooded mess at the end, but with a smile on your face that would make the Cheshire Cat jealous.

This is the kind of music that kicks your face in and makes you pay to clean its shoes. It is all consuming, it is blacker than a midnight sun, it is a vicious as a pack of wolverines tearing apart a baby, and it is something I urge you all to go and check out.
