Empire of The Necromancers by Ashenheart

Empire of The Necromancers by Ashenheart fucking slaps, and when it drops in a few days, you need to not only hear it but buy it, and everything else they’ve done.

Right… that’s the review done… I’m off for a pint.

What do you mean, no?

Ugh… fine.

You see, the problem that I have with Ashenheart isn’t with how I will go into what I write about them, but in trying to figure out with each new release and, subsequently, with each accompanying review, how many different ways I can say ‘This band is the best Black Metal band around at the moment and everything they touch turns to fucking gold. Oh yes, I love them and that’s why they won the BMA Band of The Year Award for last year.’

And on the strength of Empire of The Necromancers they’re pretty much nailed on to go back to back in 2025 as well.

As you would expect, Empire of The Necromancers is the Blackest of Metal and heavy as hell, with Amanda once again weaving her magic with some of the most brutal riffs you will hear, while Alex is at his demonic vocal best, screeching and growling like a possessed banshee, yet Ashenheart are no longer a duo, and the addition of Steve Wiener is an ace in the hole as he brings a sense of calm within the madness, using this song to nail down his place within the Ashenheart family.

It is a triumphant piece of music that, once again, helps establish Ashenheart as a band that should be on everybody’s lips and, I genuinely believe, that by the end of this year they will be.

So be prepared.

Empire of The Necromancers is a statement of intent, and that statement reads ‘We are here. Acknowledge us.’

Head on over to the Ashenheart Bandcamp page and join the revolution.
